Day 50 of the 47th year of my personal chronology
I woke up early in the morning, took a cold shower, had breakfast, dropped Leah off at daycare, and got to work.
During the day I had several meetings and stand-ups, but most of the time I worked on a new project—finishing the technical specification and studying the details of breeding selection. I had to refresh the basics of linear algebra: matrix operations and solving systems of linear equations. I remember that in my first year at Bauman I could not imagine any of that ever being useful in real life. And yet it turns out that the breeding value of animals and the projected improvement of a breed can be calculated by stuffing a bunch of indicators into a matrix. Fun stuff.
I received my hunting license. More precisely, the physical card is still being made, but the entry was added to the registry and the service was officially delivered. Russia’s Gosuslugi public services portal is a great thing. I stayed late at work and was the last one to leave. I got home only at 10 p.m. I had duck leg for dinner and a grilled praline candy coated in chocolate. Then I played around with the walkie-talkies I bought on Ozon—they’re excellent devices.
