Day 89 of my 47th year
I woke up in the morning with a pleasant ache in my body — back, arms, and legs. Bliss. I need to make swimming a habit again. I walked Leia to kindergarten because I did not have the car, and on the way we chatted sweetly — it is so wonderful when your children grow up right before your eyes. Leia loved our walk together and even said she wanted to do it more often.
I got to work by bus and then walked along the Garden Ring. It feels great to walk before work. I should walk to work once in a while. At work we finally signed the new poultry contract — hooray! hooray! hooray! The day was spent preparing the project and discussing implementation plans.
In the evening I went to pick up the car, taking the metro and then a tram — I have really gotten out of the habit of long-distance public transportation. You can actually look at and listen to so much on the way. Bliss. I picked up my little swallow; they had rebuilt all the brake calipers front and rear, changed the pads, and replaced the brake fluid. I drove home, quickly threw together a salad, had a rushed dinner, and just as I was about to relax, Masha’s old musician friend Alexander came by — she had met him in Israel once. He stopped by to collect a guitar pedal that had been passed through Masha. Sasha turned out to be a very pleasant guy. We drank tea, laughed, and in the end he virtuously played several pieces for us on the guitar. Incredibly talented — I watched his fingers and could not understand how it was even possible.
The girls went to bed late, so tomorrow morning they will be a mess. Sigh.
