Day 19 in a row of keeping my diary.
The morning began with coffee and a trip to daycare. At work I dealt with routine matters, got access to the BPMN platform, and started studying it in depth. A good solution—glitchy, of course, with its own quirks and bugs, but still good.
Today I managed to figure out how to program the ESP-32 chip. It is not as simple as it seemed at first, but also not as difficult as it once looked. The programming language is very logical, understandable, and not complicated. Since the breadboards had not arrived yet and I could not play around with sensors, I decided to experiment with the built-in LED. I made my first little “HELLO WORLD” program—I encoded Morse code and taught the LED to blink it. Funny. I reordered new boards because I found a cheaper source with faster delivery. I also ordered a GY-NEO6MV2 GPS module and a soldering iron. Unfortunately, there is no way around the soldering iron.
I am looking for and thinking through optimal ways to use my invention. I am leaning toward building an SOS device. Older and wiser friends are hinting at the same thing.
In the evening I cooked an incredible mushroom soup from a mix of dried porcini and aspen mushrooms. My wife was thrilled, even though she had been skeptical at first. In the evening we watched the absolutely dumbest and funniest movie, Vacation (2015). The brain needs discharge.
