Day 100 of my 47th year

For the first time in my life, I am doing something consistently every single day — aside from basic bodily needs — I am writing an online diary :) In the morning I took Leia to kindergarten with a dress and white tights for the celebration — today they were celebrating Father’s Day there.
At work, one meeting replaced another, one call followed another, and everyone wanted decisions, results, advice, and so on from me. I barely sat down the entire day and did not even have time for the bathroom. Still, I left work early enough to make it to the kindergarten celebration, although I spent the whole drive talking on the phone about work before and after the event.
Father’s Day itself was rather symbolic. The dads showed up, but there was not much time to prepare any real performances: a few kids recited poems, the older group sang a song about dads, and the teachers organized “Come on, boys!”-style contests. In the first contest, for the title of strongest dad, I naturally could not help participating — and of course I won =) The challenge was to squeeze half a lemon into a glass; the dad with the most juice won. The key to success was my cooking experience — I know exactly how to squeeze a lemon efficiently — and of course I was careful not to spill anything. I had one and a half times as much juice in my glass as the next closest competitor. Bwahaha. Leia looked at me throughout the celebration with happy, adoring eyes. It was incredible. I also joined the building-bureau contest, where we built a city out of construction blocks. In short, the kids squealed with joy and the dads proudly played along. At the end everyone was given certificates and sent on their way. I left mine on a locker in the kindergarten.
Afterward Masha called and asked me to pick her and Sonya up from the doctor’s office near Sokolniki. We spent about twenty minutes in traffic. In the evening Masha headed off to the institute, and I met her later at the metro. I put Leia to bed on time, but the little piglet has started falling asleep badly.
