The twelfth day of the 47th loop
In the morning before work I started learning a new language. Which one? Let it remain a surprise for now. I like it, but it is very difficult. Still, I can feel movement in my brain—pleasant. In the morning my wife took my umbrella, and outside a terrible rain began. I drove Leah to daycare and got soaked. Fortunately, there was a bright yellow umbrella in the car that Grandma had given Leah—a small one with a transparent window, little ears, and a cute face, either a kitten or a Pokémon. In any case, I took that umbrella and walked from the car to work under it. People coming toward me were grinning from ear to ear—an adult man in a strict suit under an umbrella like that... well. I gave people some joy—free of charge. Enjoy.
Changes are coming at work. I do not yet know whether that is good or bad. Personally, I dislike and am wary of change, but I know and firmly believe that everything is always for the better, so onward. I generated a new list of initiatives for colleagues; we’ll see what sticks. We took Zhenka A. to lunch. I persuaded him to re-enroll in college, and Oleg called and clarified what exactly he needed to do. I very much hope Zheka goes back to school and graduates.
In the evening I stayed a bit late at work. When I got home, I cooked dinner and sat down with the new language. I need to remember this day.
Finished episode 4 of The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed. A very powerful film.
