Advent Calendar 12
A very important event at the beginning of 2025 was my surgery on my left knee. Before New Year’s, the knee started hurting badly and life became very uncomfortable. I went through another round of examinations, finally got an MRI, and it turned out that the main problem was a torn meniscus that was catching under a ligament from time to time, causing pain and discomfort.
I decided to go ahead with the surgery — my first operation under general anesthesia. I got “repaired” at the Family Doctor clinic not far from home. Overall, it turned out to be far less scary than I had imagined. I came in in the morning, checked in, had spent the previous couple of weeks doing tests, got taken into the operating room, blinked, and was already back in my room with my leg wrapped. The next day I walked home on my own.
Now I can bend my leg without any problems, sit down, squat, and kneel. All in all, it was a useful experience and a good event.
