Neologism

A neologism (from the Greek neos — new, logos — word) is a word, meaning, or expression that has recently appeared in a language to describe new phenomena, objects, or concepts. Native speakers clearly perceive such a word as new. Neologisms arise because of technological development, cultural change, and social shifts, and are often borrowed from other languages or formed from already existing morphemes.
