Meat & Poultry Summit 2026

I'll admit that public speaking is always stressful for me at first, but once the presentation is over, it feels amazing. Lately I've been pushing myself out of my comfort zone more often to build my speaking skills. Today I'm happy with how I did: letters came together into words, words into ideas, and ideas into a presentation. The audience feedback was positive. Some people even applauded, some asked interesting questions, and a few later quoted me in their own talks. That's a nice feeling.
Today I spoke at the Meat & Poultry 2026 summit, which included the Meat Industry, Refrigeration Industry for Agriculture, and Chicken King exhibitions. Don't laugh, but I spoke at the Chicken King show, during a strategy session titled 'Automation and Robotics in Meat Production: Opportunities for AI.' My presentation was called 'A Bitwise Index for Evaluating the Breeding Value of Animals Using Fuzzified Data (SFI).'
If you're interested, you can take a look at my slides. There weren't many people seated in the audience, but the venue was open, so people were constantly coming and going. I was a bit nervous on the way there. I'd prepared the night before and even written out a speech, but because I was the third speaker, I had time to mentally adjust my presentation to the audience. I'd originally prepared to speak to animal breeders and livestock specialists, but in reality I was speaking to IT people.
During the talk, I more or less abandoned my beautiful slide deck and clicked through the slides at the very end, saying, 'I covered that, I covered that too, and that as well.' Overall, I loved the experience and need to keep building this skill. So I'm happy to accept invitations to speak (for free, at least for now :).
