Dreaming and planning
It is time to set goals for 2026 and adjust my bigger life goals.
The holidays ended quickly — though not as quickly as before. Probably because this year I spent the entire holiday season completely sober. By the way, giving up alcohol gave me a lot of energy, which I was able to channel into creating things.
Over the holidays I opened my dissertation :) looked at it, read it, and then, while procrastinating, got distracted and built a little program for managing a family tree. It turned out to be very interesting and highly addictive. I will use elements of the system in my research. So goal No. 1 for this year is to defend my Candidate of Sciences dissertation and start forcing myself to work toward a doctoral dissertation. That is my macro goal. My second goal for 2026 is to come up with something new every week, no matter what field it comes from — the important thing is to invent. One important rule: whatever I come up with has to be packaged somehow and published on the site.
Well then, I am setting one more goal — fairly simple, but вполне achievable. Goal No. 3: in 2026 I will continue improving my lifestyle in terms of movement, exercise, and nutrition. The result should be a healthy weight for my age and height. Starting Monday, I am going to lose weight and eat greens. But to achieve that goal I need sports, I need to radically rethink my lifestyle and bring regular exercise back into my daily routine.
My fourth goal for the year is straightforward: read at least 50 works of fiction. I read a lot as it is, and often write as well, but not fiction. I need to re-cultivate that side of myself the way I used to.
Let the fifth goal be tied to career and income. I would put it this way: I want to develop additional passive and recurring income streams this year, and also broaden the scope of my professional activity.
This is a living post; as I formulate goals and tasks, I will keep updating it, including with progress against the plan.
Report:
Goal 1:
* Status * work (the “brick”) is being revised — the paper is 95% ready; next step: dissertation abstract (70% ready) + 1 VAK journal article (90% ready), pilot implementation (100%), prototype (100%).
