Day 71 of my 47th year
I woke up at 5 a.m. already rested and recovered, decided not to get up after all, and kept sleeping until 6:30. So yes, I got enough sleep.
I dropped Leia off at kindergarten at 8:15. It was the first time she would have breakfast there. I met Oleg M. by the kindergarten, and we drove to Patriot Park. We arrived on time and walked from the parking lot near the church to the exhibition center. The weather was good, and the walk was pleasant.
Then came speeches by department director Elena T., ICC chairman Naum B., and other respected people. Overall it was business as usual. This was already my fourth demo day, and I know all the projects well and have seen everything before. We wrapped up around 1 p.m. I drove to the office but stopped on the way to buy a gift for my sister. A very good gift.
All my meetings in the office were canceled, so I worked from home instead. I sat until late at night writing the index, learned how to convert it into numbers, and implemented configurable normalization using two algorithms. Bliss.
In the evening I got a haircut and trimmed my beard, let nanny Ira go at 8 p.m., and then Leia and I played Twister. I went to bed at 2 a.m. I added optional normalization methods for the index and ways to transform it into a numeric interpretation. It looks great.
