Day 58 of the 47th year of my chronology

A steady morning. I made porridge for the girls and headed to work. On the way I called my mother to wish her a happy birthday. She was expecting Katya and her family that evening and was upset that we would not be coming over for the weekend. I did not tell her that Leia and I were actually planning to come in the evening.
I worked on the livestock breeding project and switched the code scanner from Data Matrix to QR. I did not reinvent the wheel and used a stable recognition library — it works perfectly.
I left work on time and went to pick up Leia from kindergarten. Then we quickly got ready and headed to the dacha. We took the toll road and still hit all the traffic, including several jams on the paid road itself. In the end the trip took two and a half hours. We arrived after dark. As Leia got out of the car, she looked at the starry sky and said, “Wow, so many airplanes.” The child rarely sees stars; I need to draw her attention to them.
As we approached my mother’s little house, I called her and started casually asking what she was doing and who had arrived. She was telling me, and then at some point we suddenly opened the door and she was genuinely shocked and delighted. Katya was already there — we met her in the garden — and so was Nastya. Katya immediately went to get Ilya and Masha. We had dinner salads, ate cake, sat nicely for a couple of hours, and then headed back. Leia fell asleep in the car right away, and I talked with Misha the whole way from the dacha back to Moscow.
