Looking back at the past year and identifying the standout moments really was a great idea. It is a very interesting analytical exercise — I recommend it to everyone.

I was thinking about what else to include and suddenly remembered that for several years now, every time I visited my father’s grave, I promised myself I would take care of restoring it, because the monument had tilted, the flower bed had sunk into the ground, and the fence looked dull. I kept putting it off for years, and each time I felt bad about it, but one thing or another always got in the way. This year my conscience finally grabbed me by the collar and I took care of it — took a couple of vacation days, sorted out the legal aspects, went to the cemetery, approved the work, and hired a company. A weight off my shoulders. A good thing to have done.
