King Arthur’s Knife Holder
From the junk drawer of old ideas that I never wrote down properly. The concept is as follows: create a kitchen knife holder from natural stone—or artificial stone made to look natural—with a clever magnetic locking mechanism. Magnets or a compression mechanism hold the knives firmly, and only the chosen king of the kitchen can pull them out.
It should look like a beautiful, heavy stone with one or more knives sticking out of it, and the knife can be removed only by a clever action—for example, pushing and pulling, or twisting side to side. An added advantage would be child safety.
